Long Beach Poly HS: Placed seventh at the State Championships in the mile with a time of 4:28 as a senior… Named the team’s captain as a senior after earning their Most Valuable Player award three years in a row… Recorded a time of 15:12 in a three-mile Great Cow Run cross country race… Spent four seasons on the track and field and cross country teams…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he ran a 4:31 in the mile as a sophomore… Would like to transfer back to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo… Aspires to be a video game designer and developer… Father was on the US Navy track team and posted a time of 3:57 in the mile… Hobbies include running, playing video games, singing and writing… Nicknamed “Rubenator”… Has one sibling – Rory (18)… Is the son of Ruben and Regina Baerga… Born in Fountain Valley, CA on November 28, 1992…..
